Haringey Council leader Joseph Ejiofor has written to Catherine West MP and David Lammy MP to highlight some of the serious issues residents are facing due to COVID-19.

The letter highlights key concerns such as food security, free school meals, domestic violence, residents with No Resource to Public Funds, community and voluntary sector stability, financial support for frontline workers, and funding guarantees for local government.

Cllr Joseph Ejiofor said, “It’s really important at this time that there is fast and effective communication between all levels of government.

“Haringey, alongside all other local authorities, is at the frontline of delivering essential services and are in a unique position to scrutinise the government’s Coronavirus response where it isn’t delivering for residents. I am sure that our diligent MPs will do everything they can at national level to ensure that our residents get the support they need to stay safe during this pandemic.”
