Haringey Labour News from your Haringey Labour Team
Young people in Haringey could see their life chances transformed after a partnership of the Council and local community organisations received £1.5million from the Mayor of London to deliver our Haringey Community Gold scheme that will help support young people to fulfil their potential.
Haringey Community Gold received the biggest amount of funding in this round of the Mayor’s Young Londoners Fund and is keen to share the learning with other organisations.
The scheme is designed to open up opportunities and provide additional support to local young people. It will also include a network of detached youth work and community programmes to help young people at risk of exclusion to fulfill their potential and avoid getting caught up in crime.
The Young Londoners Fund has been set up by Mayor Sadiq Khan to help children and young adults make the most of our capital city. Haringey Council Chief Executive Zina Etheridge said: “This is fantastic news for the borough. We are determined to help our young people get the right start in life.
“This substantial funding will help us provide the support and programmes to help individuals who have experienced challenging starts to their life. This will help our young people fulfil their potential.”
